It's time for slang time again! ^^ So all of you have watched The Heirs?? I have watched it HAHA~!
So let's just get started~! 1. Geum-sa-bba 금사빠 : Love is the moment. A person who falls in love quickly or at first sight. K-dramas’ male characters are usually geum-sa-bba. This is an abbreviation of 금방 사랑에 빠지는 사람. Tan is totally a geum-sa-bba character. 2. Cheol-byeok-nyeo 철벽녀 : An impregnable woman who doesn’t open her heart or accept other people’s love easily. Most female characters are cheol-byeok-nyeo in a drama’s beginning. She loves the male character but doesn’t show all of her heart, like Eun Sang. 3. Ddo-ra-yi 또라이 : It was once used to express a person who has a mental issue, but nowadays it is used for a person who goes beyond the limits of common sense or basic values. Similar to Crazy. One of Young Do’s nicknames is Young-do-ra-yi. There are many ddo-ra-yi in Heirs. LA friend J, Rachel, Myeong Soo… 6. Hoon-nam 훈남 : 훈훈한 남자. A man who makes women’s heart warm because of his good looking, sweet voice and gentle manner. The main character is usually hot and spicy, but this character is mild. They depend on atmosphere more than looks. They pretend to be real, but they are only in the fantasy of women, like Hyo Shin Sunbae. 7. Huh-dang 허당 : A person who looks perfect but is actually sloppy. We can’t hate this huh-dang character because this character doesn’t know how to hate people sincerely. Bo Na of Heirs is a typical huh-dang. She acts differently from what she’s saying. And Myeng Soo is a huh-dang and ddo-ra-yi character mixed together. 8. Yang-da-ri 양다리 : This literally refers to a person’s two legs, but when applied to a relationship, it means two timing someone. Rachel’s mother makes a hedge between Chan Young’s father and Young Do’s father, and Chan Young’s father also does it to Kim Won and Chairman. 9. Ut-peu-da 웃프다 : The compound world ‘Ut-peu-da’ is formed from the words ‘웃기다’ and ‘슬프다’. It is used to express the feeling people get when they face a rib-tickling and sad situation together. Eun Sang thinks that the fact that she has to work hard despite her young age is rib-tickling and sad. If I were her, I would feel only sad ^-ㅠ. 10. Jin-sang 진상 : A person who throws a fit. It can be a fussy quest over an ex lover. Eun Sang has to deal with many Jin-sang, like the men who try to get Eun Sang's phone number, and the incredibly handsome Jin-sang like Tan, Young Do, and Chan Young. This can also be used as a verb. For example, fighting in a cafe is also Jin-sang. I only share 10 words this time ^^ But I will post more!! ^_^ Now I'm gonna tell you what I saw in Myeongdong when I visited Korea ^^
So when I visited Myeongdong, the first store that I caught was Dunkin' Donuts LOL The store was beside the entrance so I saw that store first haha! And then when I walked more, I saw a little mini market at my right. I still remember that I bought some seaweeds and ramyeons there~ After that I remember that I saw SPAO, SM Entertainment's clothing product ^^ I was very excited about that so I decided to visit the store :) The store was not too crowded but I think full of K-pop fans because I saw so many fans with EXO, Super Junior, GG, f(x), SHINee T-Shirt~ Because I actually didn't know what to do in the store, I just randomly went into the second floor and took a piece of pink sweater [ It was autumn when I visited Korea]. I think the price is not too expensive but because I didn't need any clothes that time, so I decided not to spend my money for something that I didn't need~ After that, I went out from the store and I looked around. I found Nature Republic, Etude House and some cosmetic shops along the street ^^ And do you know, I ate my dinner at a bibimbap house! Because I never eat bibimbap before, so I wanted to try bibimbap haha! The place is not too big but I think it's yeah, comfy enough~ Because of my lack Korean Language, I didn't know how to order something HAHA! I only said "Igeo keurigo igeo juseyo [ This and then, this please]" while pointing at the food. I had some troubles because of my lack Korean Language haha! After ate my dinner, I tried Kimbap [ Korean sushi] and the Ahjumma was really nice haha~~ And lastly, I bought EXO's XOXO albums [ Korean and Chinese] and Infinite's Destiny album for my sister~ That's my story about my experience in Myeongdong~~ I will tell you more soon~ ^^ So what do you think about Myeongdong? ^^ Hey guys! So today we will talk about Korean Slang Words! So when you go to Korea, if you wanna feel 'more-korean' #LOL you can use these slang words haha! So let's start~!
아싸 ( assa )- Awesome 짱 ( jjang )- Cool If you're a kpop fan, you have to know these words~ 'Assa' is like 'YES~' or 'Hooray~' I found 'Assa' in "Super Junior Donghae & Eunhyuk - Oppa Oppa" song! Check this out! 아싸 삘 받았어 밤새도록 달릴까 (Assa ppil badasseo bamsaedorok dallalkka) And you can use 'jjang' if you're telling the person that he/she is cool or awesome "Hey! You're 'jjang'!" like that~ 변태 ( Byeon-Tae ) - A pervert 죽을래? (Jug-Eul-Lae?) - Wanna die? You know the words above right? Yes! It's ' pervert ' and 'Wanna die?' If you often watch dramas, you will often hear those words! ^^ 여친 (Yeo-Chin) - girlfriend (from 여자친구 'Yeo-Ja Chin-Gu' ) 남친( Nam-Chin) - boyfriend (from 남자친구 'Nam-Ja Chin-Gu' ) -both in the 'relationships' list. I have a Nam-Chin! haha~ It means that I have a boyfriend~ Korean usually use that words when she/he is chatting with her/his friends~ 얼짱( Eol-jjang ) - 'best' looking (as opposed to just 'good' looking)- the most beautiful/handsome person in a given group You must know Eol-jjang right? Eol-jjang is from Eol-Gul Jjang ( Cool face ) We can see that there are so many eol-jjang in Korea ^^ Example : Lauren Lunde { MBLAQ's hello baby) , Recipon Leo { MBLAQ's Hello Baby) ,Baek Soo Min and more! ^^ 야동 [ Ya-Dong] – a porno Do you like to watch Ya-Dong? hahaha~ I'm kidding kidding~ So, Ya-dong means porno in Korean :) If you're inspirit, of course you know Ya-Dong couple right? Kkk~ Yep! It's Hoya-Dongwoo couple lmao! But Ya-Dong is actually porno in Korean! ^^ - The last - 힘내 ( Him-Nae) ! – You can do it! 멍 (Meong) – sound effect for a blank stare 헐(Heol) – OMG but only for bad things (eg. You find out you have to do pages 1-100 for homework – that’s a 헐 moment) Himnae!! If your friend will have exams, you can tell him/ her 'Himnae'! It means 'fighting!' Meong... Who watch Running Man here? If you watch Running man, you know Song Ji Hyo's nick name right? Yes! Meong Ji~ Because she likes to give us blank stare kkk~~ Heol~~ I have so many homework today!! You can express your 'OMG' for bad things with 'Heol' ^^ That's all for Korean Slang Words today!!
